Short days and cold nights are finally here and as we spend more time indoors we can take time to reflect on our goals for the future.  The Feather River Stewardship Coalition is in the midst of a growth spurt as we build our foundation to create something amazing and establish an avenue for opportunity. Our next meeting is December 9th, from 3 to 5 PM at the Quincy Library, where we will be making decisions to shape the Coalition and plan for the future.  The group will be featuring art from local students of Feather River College to choose as a logo for the Coalition. Our thanks go to the art students of FRC as well as their instructor, Raphael Blanco, for their dedication and enthusiasm on this project. The final edits are in for the charter which will be voted for adoption, opening opportunity to develop a board and become an official group.  Most importantly, we will be discussing the opportunities for involvement and support of the Lakes Basin Project on the Plumas National Forest.  This multi-faceted project has many dynamic and beneficial objectives and we have been invited to provide input above and beyond the typical environmental commenting periods required for projects on public lands.  The Coalition also has the opportunity to seek financial support for this project and set a precedence for active involvement in shaping Plumas County into a healthy, more fire resilient gem in the Sierra Nevada’s. Please join us on December 9th and make involvement in our public lands a part of your goals for the future.
